Easy uses the 5×5 grid that matches the original Wend format: eighteen letter tiles, seven walls and four words. It is the size most people picture when they think of the game.
The extra row over Novice is enough for paths to start bending around walls rather than running straight, and that is the skill this tier builds. Look for the long word first — a six-letter path has far fewer places it can fit than a three-letter one, and pinning it usually collapses the rest of the board.
